Nomads On Ice

On Friday (November 6th) the whole family went to Connecticut College in New London. We participated in an activity that we do not have a lot of experience with, ice skating. So, join us for Nomads On Ice.

Connecticut College opens up their ice skating rink, in Dayton Arena, for a few weekends in the fall to homeschooling families. It is from 1pm to 3pm. And, get this, the cost is only $3 per person. Even better, that includes skate rental! You read that correctly; $3 per person including skate rental! That is $1.50 per hour. You can’t beat that value.

To get there, you will pass the Coast Guard Academy (if you travel there on I-95). You will go to the third stop light (past the main entrance to the college on the left) and you will turn right and head down the hill to the parking area.

When you walk inside, pay your $3 per person and head to the right. they have ice hockey skates and figure skating skates. I felt that the figure skating skates were much more comfortable. Although Trevor said the ice hockey skates were easier to skate on.

We skated our butts off! No one fell and there were no injuries. We really enjoyed ourselves and the whole thing was a tremendous value. They are going to do it for a few more weeks. So, if you are in the area, get over to the Dayton Arena and see the Nomads On Ice. Safe Travels.
