It is that time of year again. The day when we get together, stuff ourselves with delicious turkey, sides and desserts. A day that commemorates the harvest feast of 1621. That’s right. It is Thanksgiving 2015.
For some this holiday is all about the food. To others it is about family getting together. Some look forward to it as a day off and a long weekend. If I am honest, I look forward to all of these.
A common tradition during Thanksgiving, right before a meal or immediately afterwards is to say what we are thankful for. The Nomads have a tradition of saying something that we are thankful for every evening before we go to sleep. We feel that you should be grateful all year long. However, we recognize and observe this day, Thanksgiving, as a day completely dedicated to gratitude and being thankful all day long.
On this Thanksgiving 2015, I am thankful for the love and support of my wife and best friend, Mama Nomad. I am thankful for my smart, handsome and loyal Nomad sons. I am thankful for my extended family that loves and supports us even though our lifestyle is an uncommon one. I am thankful for those of you who love and care for me and are my true friends. I am thankful for my honorable and ethical business partners. I am thankful for my health and the good health of my family. I am thankful for my liberty, something many others do not have in other parts of the world. And, I am thankful to my creator. My list goes on and on. But these are the main top of mind items I am thankful for.
Finally, we, The Nomads, are thankful for all of you; our readers, supporters and fellow travelers. We are part of such a vibrant and supportive global community and we are thankful for each of you.
We recommend that you take time and be thankful for something each day. We also hope that you will, at least, take today and acknowledge that which you are thankful for. From our family of Nomads to yours, Happy Thanksgiving 2015! Safe Travels.
