What did this adventurous Nomad want to do for Father’s Day this year (2017)? Go hiking? Climb a mountain? White water rafting? Sand dune sledding? All good guesses. However, this year, I wanted some good old-fashioned Rest and Relaxation.
So, I started my day by sleeping in and waking up to the sweet sound of Mama Nomad’s voice and the wonderful smell of bacon! I was treated to bacon, eggs, toast and juice. Just my kind of breakfast.
After breakfast, I went into the living room to sit and relax. I was met with handmade cards (the best kind) and some Daddy Nomad type presents from the rest of the Nomads; all very thoughtful, both the cards and the gifts.
After the presents, I settled in with some coffee, my family, a recliner and some family TV and Movie watching. I did this for most of the afternoon. When you have full days during the week running and advising other companies and the weekends filled with adventure with the family, some down time was greatly appreciated.
In the evening, I was treated by the family to one my favorite steak houses, Texas Roadhouse. I really enjoy their steaks and their bread and butter combo. I have not visited a Texas Roadhouse yet that I did not enjoy my meal. It was a great bookend to a great day.
Thank you to my entire Nomad Family for making me feel so honored and special. I am a blessed man. Safe Travels.
