Here we are, almost two weeks into the autumn season, and let me tell you, the Nomads have been celebrating up a storm. We’ve already been able to take in the beautiful changing of the leaves in our own area and beyond. The pumpkin scented soaps and candles are out, being enjoyed by all. We’ve been eating up chili and soup to fill our bellies. Homemade applesauce has been cooking up in my slow cooker almost every day of the week, filling the house with all kinds of yummilicious smells. AND we’ve even hit up the pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins.
The weather was sunny and comfortable on our visit to the pumpkin patch. For pumpkin picking, I could have used a little more of a nip in the air, but there’s no way that I could complain about the beautiful day we had. I was expecting a crowd because the day was so nice and was pleasantly surprised to see only a couple of other groups there.
Each boy had the perfect pumpkin envisioned in their mind and they were hunting until they found it. No one left disappointed. Each boy also had the perfect design envisioned to carve into their pumpkins and that was what we took care of immediately when we got home.
Visiting the pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins has never been an annual tradition in our house. It was such a great time this year that we might have to add it to the list of autumn activities though. Happy Fall Y’all and Happy Trails!
