Wrapping Up Orlando

100_3816Our fist stop on our Nomad journey was Orlando. We had previously lived for almost 3 years in Naples, FL. Going back to Orlando was important for our family so we could experience Disney, and Universal. As it worked out, we were also very fortunate to see many of our friends, too. If you’ve been following Living Nomad Style, you’ve seen posts about all of these days already. If you’re new to the page, you can find all of our Florida destinations under “Posts” and “Destinations.”

For our Orlando visit, we stayed in Kissimmee. Our arrival was Sept 1st, and our departure was Nov 25th. We’ve discussed the townhouse, and some amenities of the community, Tuscany Preserve, in our  “Daily Happenings.”

Our overall experience was a positive one. The home was super clean, and well stocked with everything, as well as beautiful. Traveling with our 42 bins, we have most of what we need. If you don’t travel like we do, you can really come here with only your clothes, and pick up food; everything else you will need is there. The owners of the home are fantastic. They were very nice, helpful, and responsive. The mattresses are very, very comfortable; all of them. All 5 of us, and all the visitors we had, slept very well. Pots, pans, spices, soaps, most kitchen accessories, shampoo, lotion, pool toys, beach toys, tennis rackets, basketballs, sun screen, cooler, and cleaning supplies are all provided.

The neighborhood is quiet, and had a couple of law enforcement officers living in it. It’s suppose to be gated, but the gate is open all day, and there’s another entrance that is not gated. So, to me, I wouldn’t call it gated. That didn’t really bother me though. The development is off of a road that is busier than I had anticipated, but in the home, you can’t really hear too much unless the windows are open. Sitting on the lanai can be a little noisy at times, but I still found it mostly peacful. The townhouses that are completed are nice, and kept up. There are some open lots though that could be built on. Thankfully, where they were building, was far enough away from us that we didn’t hear anything.

We enjoyed the amenities, but they really could have been kept in better shape. The pool was nice, and rarely had anyone else there, but it could have been cleaned more often. The tennis court was something that the Nomad kiddos enjoyed every day that we were home. The netting that goes around the fence was partially torn from the fence, so it had to be moved out of the way each time. It should just be taken down, and the court could use a resurfacing. The basketball court was commonly crowded, and with the language of the neighborhood kids, was not a place my boys enjoyed going. So, they didn’t utilize it as much. The gym was used, almost daily, by one Nomad or another. The equipment here really could use some work. I won’t go into all the little things that bugged me in the gym; it gets kind of knit picky. It is good enough, and will work for a few weeks or months. If I was a permanent resident, I would seek something different for my workouts.

As I said, the overall experience was a positive one. We have recommended this place to friends, and family, and I would recommend it to anyone that asked me for a nice place to stay in the Orlando area. We were about 45 min from the major Orlando attractions, and I preferred it that way because we were also away from the major hustle, and bustle. If you’re planning a trip to central Florida, and have interest in staying in the wonderful townhouse that we stayed in, send us an email. We’ll give you the info you need to book it, and get started on a wonderful Kissimmee getaway PicMonkey Collage
