Happy Birthday Noah

On each nomad sons’ birthday, I always spend time looking back at years past. Marveling over how they’ve grown, how they’ve changed, and how they’re not my “little” baby anymore. I commonly shed some tears the night before, thinking how they’ll never be “this” age again. Today, I’m thinking back 17 years ago when the eldest nomad son entered the world.

Noah made his glorioNoah Collageus debut at almost five in the morning. He was five days past his due date, and that was (in my opinion) about 12 days too late. Ladies, you know what I’m saying. When you know that baby can safely enter the world, you want ’em to come on already. I was full of anticipation the whole last trimester. I just knew that every little Braxton Hicks contraction was the beginning of THE contractions to get this baby here. I couldn’t wait to see him, and I was excited to hold him. Unlike his character now, he wasn’t in much of a hurry to arrive, I suppose.

Fast forward 17 years, and this amazing young man has replaced that itty bitty baby. Being the first born, he was kind of my guinea pig as I tried to figure out how to do this mom thing. You could say, he’s been a teacher since birth. I was immediately learning from him, and he’s still teaching me today. I am so proud of the person that he is, and I’m looking forward to his future. So, today we’re celebrating Noah, and all of his awesomeness. Happy Birthday, Son!
